They are compatible with Labsphere’s UV-2000S Sunscreen Analyzer and are essential for ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and achieving reliable results in sunscreen efficacy testing

HelioScreen HD6 Plates are molded PMMA (polymethylmethacrylate) substrates specifically designed for in vitro sunscreen testing. These plates are created using a precise molding process that ensures consistent roughness, making them ideal for reliable absorbance measurements. Each plate comes with a quality certificate, verifying compliance with international standards such as ISO 24443:2021 and the FDA monograph 2011.

The main purpose of HelioScreen HD6 Plates is to provide a standardized surface that mimics the roughness of human skin. This allows for accurate and reproducible measurement of the UV transmittance of sunscreen products. During testing, a defined amount of sunscreen is spread onto the plate, and the UV transmittance is measured to calculate the sun protection factor (SPF), UVA protection factor (UVAPF), and other relevant parameters.
